Privacy Policy

The short version: AdQue doesn't collect, transmit, or sell any of your data. Everything it does happens inside your own browser, and everything it stores stays on your own device.
What AdQue does
AdQue is a Chrome extension that checks whether a business is running ads on Meta, Google, or TikTok by opening those platforms' own public ad-transparency pages — the Meta Ad Library, Google's Ads Transparency Center, and TikTok's Commercial Content Library — and reading the results.
What AdQue does not do
- It does not send any data to a server operated by AdQue, because no such server exists.
- It does not use analytics, crash reporting, or telemetry of any kind.
- It does not sell, rent, or share data with third parties, because it doesn't collect data from you in the first place.
- It does not require an account, sign-in, or API key.
What's stored, and where
AdQue stores the following locally in your browser, using Chrome's built-in storage — never on an external server:
- Watchlist entries — the competitors you've chosen to add, their targets (a Facebook Page, Google domain, or TikTok name), and any tags you give them.
- Cached check results — the status and ad count from past checks, so re-opening the popup doesn't require re-running a check.
- Linked-account resolutions — the Facebook Page, TikTok account, or LinkedIn company AdQue found linked from a given domain, cached so it doesn't need to re-resolve on every check.
- Your settings — stealth mode, schedule defaults, notification preferences, and data-retention window.
You can clear cached checks and history automatically after a set window (or never) from Settings → Data retention, and you can remove any Watchlist entry at any time.
What AdQue reads on a page
When you click "Check for ads," AdQue reads the current tab's domain and scans the page for publicly visible links to a Facebook Page, TikTok account, or similar (in navigation, footer links, or structured data), plus common ad-pixel signatures. This happens locally and is only used to run the check you asked for — it is not logged or transmitted anywhere.
Permissions
AdQue requests host access to Facebook, Google's Ads Transparency Center, and TikTok, so it can open and read those platforms' public pages on your behalf. It also requests browser storage (to save your Watchlist and settings locally), alarms (for optional scheduled re-checks), notifications (for optional change alerts), context menus (for the right-click "Check Watchlist now" shortcut), and access to your active tab (to read the site you're currently checking). None of these permissions are used to collect or transmit personal data.
Third-party platforms
AdQue reads pages belonging to Meta, Google, and TikTok, but is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated in partnership with any of them. Your use of those platforms' own pages is subject to their respective privacy policies and terms of service, not this one.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
